Happy Five Months, Little A!

Little A is five months old today! Sometimes, comparing pictures says it all. The first photo was taken at five days old. The second photo is from last week.

Little A weighed 4 pounds, 13 ounces when we took her home from the hospital. She had a tiny meow rather than a proper cry back then, and due to her jaundice, DH took to calling her our little tangerine. At first we had to finger feed her every two hours around the clock because she couldn't nurse properly.

But the jaundice faded, she developed a strong cry (though she is so mild she barely uses it) and at some point she got the hang of nursing the old fashioned way. And next thing I know, somehow my little kitten of a baby weighs almost 15 pounds!

Amazing.

Ah ... the before and after photos provide such hope! Our son was born weighing 4 lbs. 11 ozs April 20 (at 34 weeks) ...

Little A is so adorable (then and now) ...

I have much to look forward to!

Thanks, Sharee, I do think Little A is kinda cute myself. (Not quite a news flash, "Mom Thinks Own Baby Is Cute." But there you go.)

Congratulations on the birth of your son! I'm sure you are still deep into the round-the-clock stage of care that comes with a baby your son's (gestational as well as unadjusted) age. But yes, it is SO worth it. You have so much fun ahead of you!

Wishing you some extra sleep and much happiness.
